FORUM RULES
Thank you for joining, and welcome to The League of Blades!

I hope you enjoy your stay here. Whether you play video games, listen to music, read manga, or simply enjoy talking to other people, we have a category for you.

Before you go posting, please take a minute to glance over our rules. If you don’t follow them, you may receive warnings, posting suspensions, or even be permanently banned. Just follow the rules we have here, and you’ll be fine. If at any time you feel confused or unsure about the rules, please contact a forum moderator, and they’d be happy to help you.

Here is a rundown of the forum rules. Please observe these at all times.

========================================
Rules
========================================

Swearing: As our forums are open only to those aged 13 years and above, mild swearing is allowed and any words that are not allowed will be censored. However, be sure that when you swear it is not a racial slur. Also, any attempt to bypass our censors will merit an appropriate punishment.

Flaming: Flaming is any insulting comment directed at another member or group. Remember that while swearing is allowed and some joking can be fun, when people get angry and start attacking each other, they will be punished. Debating with another member is fine, but derogatory comments are not allowed and will be removed. Flaming or attacking the forum staff will not be accepted, if you have any criticism, please construct it in a helpful way and visit the Forum Feedback section.

Signatures : Please keep your signature as short and concise as possible. If a moderator considers your signature too large, you will be PMed and asked to edit your signature until it is an appropriate size. If the person does not edit their signature within 48 hours of their notice, then the moderator will completely remove the signature.

Spam: Spam can be one of many things:

- Posting the same message repeatedly
- Posting nonsense
- Going off the topic in a thread and not contributing to the discussion
- Double or triple posting within 5 minutes of each other

Spam is not simply posting too often. Spam is posting a lot without contributing anything and without a useful goal. If a moderator feels you are spamming, you will receive a verbal warning, and if you continue to make poor posts, you will receive warns/suspensions. And yes, it is possible to spam in the Off-Topic forums. Off-Topic means that you post any thread not appropriate to post in any other of our forums, but you still must stay on-topic within that thread.

Bumps: “Bumping” a topic is simply posting in it so that it rises to the top of the forum. Single bumps are acceptable, but repeat bumping will result in a warning or suspension. Bumping is not a very large concern considering the current size of our forums, but may become an issue in the future.

IM Chat Logs: You are not allowed to post any IM conversations without consent of all parties involved in the conversation. Block warnings will be given to anyone who violates this rule.

Illegal Material: The following items are banned from the forum and anyone posting them will be warned.

- Pornography/Suggestive Content. This includes any lewd poses, erotic art or writing, overtly sexual images, cleavage, revealing garments, tight clothing, and so on.
- Anything regarding hacking/illegal downloading/cracking.
- Racial/Hate Images, slurs, or phrases. This includes swastikas, burning crosses, or references to the KKK. Images of political parties or persons that advocate racism or hate crimes will be dealt with harshly.
- Impersonating a member of the staff or forum. This includes using staff tags as your avatar or in your signature.
- Promotion of illegal substances.
- Advertising for another competing website/forum outside of your signature.

Frequently Asked Questions
========================================

1. I'd like to be a moderator/administrator, how can I apply to be one?
In most cases a member is chosen by the administration to be a Moderator, usually for being a helpful, kind, or skilled person. Election or recommendations may contribute to your chances of being chosen, however.

2. __________, a mod, is constantly picking on me for minor infractions! Does he/she have it in for me?
Probably not, he/she is just doing their job and you are probably a very annoying person. However, if you are truly convinced that said Moderator is treating you unfairly, contact an Administrator immediately and inform them of your situation.

FAQs are added quite often, PM an Administrator if you have any furthur questions and it will most likely be added to the preceeding list.

========================================

If any of these rules are broken, there are several ways a member may receive consequences. First and foremost, if a Moderator sees spam, flaming, or innapropriate material, he or she will PM the member and remind them of the rules, and then delete the offending post. This is so that newer members who aren’t accustomed to the rules will not be harshly punished for a minor infraction.

If a member continues to break the rules, they will receive a block warning . This cannot be removed from your name unless there is a sustained, significant improvement in the member’s attitude.

After block warnings, several things can happen. Five blocks will result in the member being suspended from posting for a period of time. The member account might be banned from the forum, or in severe cases, the IP of the member might be banned to prevent other accounts.

If the staff finds content to be inappropriate, they have the right to remove it regardless of if it is mentioned here (it will, however, be added afterwards in that case).

To summarize:

First offense: Verbal warn
Second offense: Block warn
Further offenses: Multiple block warns/IP ban/suspensions

We hope to have several specific rules for each major sub-forum on the site in the near future.

The League of Blades is not responsible for any of the content posted by its members. Please follow these rules at all times, and enjoy your stay!
